The two young brothers of the Oberon family live in their mansion with one faithful butler. They are happy until they discover the inheritance has gone to cousin Toni. This charming girl is shortly to descend on them, and the problem that faces the two is "Murder or Marriage?"

When Toni arrives they have to consider whether (if murder) the means shall be the knife, or poison, or the dungeons, or (if marriage) which of the two is it who must marry her?

Ian Stuart Black plays every conceivable variation on the alternate plots of the brothers, and the play is alive with wit and invention.

Meet the cast & crew

Headshot of actor and director Rod Hutchinson from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Rod Hutchinson

"Harris"

Rod was seen earlier this season as Maxie Dunsill in the well-received production of Pat Cook’s It's Murder in the Wings! He directed Jeanne and Sam Bobrick’s Weekend Comedy, Paul Slade Smith’s Unnecessary Farce, and Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park for Mini Fridge Theatre Company and hopes to direct more in the future.

He is perhaps most familiar to MFT audiences as "Guy at Front Door."

Headshot of actor Brennan Risling from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Brennan Risling

"Francis Oberon"

Brennan (aka The Riz / aka Major Party) is a man of many personas. In tandem, he is a teacher, musician, writer, reviewer, clinician, public speaker, radio and television host, two-time (TWO-TIME!) Saskatchewan Air Guitar Champion, Music Education masters’ student, and now an actor! Who knew?

Brennan is excited to be in his third season, and fourth show, with Mini Fridge Theatre Company!

Chris_Utigard_2

Christopher Utigard

"Douglas Oberon"

Christopher is excited to be part of the third show of MFT’s ninth season and in his fourth production with Mini Fridge Theatre Company. He came for the Mini Fridge, stayed for the theatre, and hopes you will do the same.

Enjoy the food and enjoy the show!

Headshot of actor Brookelynn Allan from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Brookelynn Allan

"Miss Richards"

Brookelynn has been counting down the days to the debut of “We Must Kill Toni”, her sixth show with Mini Fridge Theatre Company. Her past work with Mini Fridge includes roles in Larry Shue’s The Foreigner, Philip King’s See How They Run, Paul Slade Smith’s Unnecessary Farce as well as behind the scenes oversight as stage manager for Marc Camoletti’s Don't Dress for Dinner and as assistant stage manager for Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays.

Rose_Christie

Rose Christie

"Toni Oberon"

Rose Christie is thrilled for her second performance on the Mini Fridge stage. After moving far from the Appalachian theatre where she grew up and spending nearly a decade off-stage, her role in last Spring's production of Barefoot in the Park by Neil Simon reawakened her latent theatre-kid heart, and she hasn't looked back since. When not memorizing lines or dodging murder attempts, she spends her days writing romance novels and trying to stay warm.

Headshot of actor Michael Neuert from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Michael Neuert

Director

Although Michael is usually seen on stage, he is certainly no stranger to directing as well. Bringing Ian Stuart Black’s We Must Kill Toni to life for you has been an absolute entertaining time for him. The cast and crew have worked diligently to bring this show to life. Michael hopes you enjoy tonight's performance.

Christine_Unger3

Christine Unger

Stage Manager

Christine is delighted to be once again working backstage — this time, in We Must Kill Toni. The cast is professional, and she feels truly fortunate to be working with such a wonderful group of people. She is hoping that you enjoy watching it as much as she has enjoyed working on it.

Lindsay_Woods2

Lindsay Woods

Assistant Stage Manager

Lindsay is thrilled to be sneaking around in the shadows (to change the set) once again as assistant stage manager for her third Mini Fridge production. Previous credits with MFT include Karen Brown in Season 8's Unnecessary Farce by Paul Slade Smith and assistant stage manager for Season 7's Weekend Comedy by Jeanne and Sam Bobrick. She had also been involved in several on- and off-stage roles with Swift Current Little Theatre from 2013-2018.

She hopes you have a wonderful night and enjoy all the shenanigans.
