Frequently asked questions
What kind of shows does Mini Fridge Theatre Company perform?
Mini Fridge Theatre Company performs light‑hearted comedies that are fun, character‑driven, and built for audiences who want to relax and enjoy a good laugh together. Our seasons include a mix of contemporary and classic comedic plays, ranging from fast‑paced farces to warm, relationship‑based stories and the occasional mystery‑comedy.
We present these shows in a friendly dinner‑theatre format at St. John’s Anglican Hall in Saskatoon, with guests enjoying a meal before settling in for an evening or afternoon performance.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes. Mini Fridge Theatre Company offers digital gift certificates that can be used for any of our shows in Saskatoon. They make an easy, flexible gift for friends, family, or co‑workers who enjoy a fun night out.
To order a gift certificate, simply reach out through our contact page, and we’ll help you get everything set up.
Is Mini Fridge Theatre Company locally run?
Yes. Mini Fridge Theatre Company is locally run by a small group of friends who met through theatre and never stopped creating together. We started this company because we wanted to keep theatre feeling alive and welcoming here at home in Saskatchewan, especially for artists who don’t want to leave the province to follow their passion. What began as a side project outside our regular full‑time jobs has grown into a small, independent operation that now supports local actors, designers, and production staff. Any profit goes straight back into the work itself, and we’re grateful to our audiences for helping us keep this warm, silly, community‑minded space going.
Is Mini Fridge Theatre Company good for first time theatregoers?
Yes. Mini Fridge Theatre Company is a great fit for anyone who wants a relaxed night out without any pressure. Our shows are welcoming and fun, with a mix of warm moments and big laughs, and the atmosphere feels friendly from the moment you walk in. Whether you’re getting a rare night away from the kids, planning an outing with friends, or simply looking to enjoy a meal and some laughter with a room full of people, you’ll feel comfortable here. You don’t need any theatre background. Just come ready to settle in, share a meal, and enjoy the night.
Can I be in a show or help out backstage?
Yes. Mini Fridge Theatre Company is always happy to connect with people who are interested in performing or supporting our production team. We work with actors and paid production assistants on an as‑needed basis throughout the season.
If you’d like to be considered for future opportunities, get in touch and let us know what areas you’re interested in.
Can I donate costumes or props?
Yes. Mini Fridge Theatre Company is always happy to hear from people who have costumes or props they think might be a good fit for our shows. Because we have limited storage space, we review donations on a case‑by‑case basis to make sure the items are safe, practical, and something we can genuinely use.
If you have something you’d like us to consider, send us a message with a brief description or photo of the item.

Where are you located?
Mini Fridge Theatre Company performs at St. John’s Anglican Hall, 816 Spadina Crescent East in downtown Saskatoon. We’re located along the South Saskatchewan River, right across from the Meewasin Trail and the riverbank. It’s a central, walkable part of the city with hotels, restaurants, and well‑known downtown spots close by, making it easy to plan a full night out around the show.
Note: The hall is nestled just next to the landmark St. John's Anglican Cathedral.

For directions, check out our location on Google Maps.
Is parking available?
Yes. There’s a paid parking lot right beside St. John’s Anglican Hall, as well as free street parking along Spadina Crescent East. Most guests find parking a short walk from the venue.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. The main entrance is fully accessible. Guests enter through a small vestibule and can take the elevator to the theatre level or down to the accessible washroom. The space is easy to navigate for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids.
When should I arrive?
Doors typically open 30 minutes before the meal begins. For most evening performances, doors open at 5:30 pm and the meal begins at 6 pm, with the show to follow. For The MFT Brunch, doors usually open at 12:30 pm with the meal at 1 pm. Arriving early gives you time to enjoy your meal before the show begins.
Is the show suitable for kids or teens?
Mini Fridge Theatre Company is a licensed venue and our performances are planned with adults in mind. Most guests join us for a relaxed, grownup night out where you can settle in, enjoy the comedy, and not worry about little ones. Because of that, our shows aren’t the best fit for children or younger teens.
Do I need to check the menu before booking?
Yes. When booking for more than one person (and to save time online at checkout), it’s helpful to look at the menu ahead of time. You’ll need to know what each person in your group would like to enjoy, and it’s a good idea to ask about any allergies in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Tickets must be booked ahead of time because our caterer prepares meals in advance. Sales usually close 72 hours before each performance, even if the show isn’t sold out. Many dates fill earlier than that, so booking ahead is the best way to make sure you get in.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
No. We don’t sell tickets at the door because our caterer needs advance notice to prepare meals for every guest. Ticket sales close 72 hours before each performance, and once sales close, we can’t add additional meals. If you’re hoping to join us, booking ahead is required.
Can I attend just the show without dinner?
Mini Fridge Theatre Company is Saskatoon’s dinner theatre, so the evening includes your three‑course meal before the show begins. Most guests make a full night of it and enjoy the whole experience together. Because of that, we don’t offer show‑only tickets.
What is dinner theatre and how does it work?
Dinner theatre at Mini Fridge Theatre Company is a simple, all‑in experience right here in Saskatoon. You order your meal in advance, so the hard decisions are already done before you arrive. When you get here, you settle in and start with your meal, and once everyone has had time to eat and relax, the comedy begins. Whether you join us for an evening performance or The MFT Brunch, it’s an easy way to enjoy live theatre in Saskatoon because everything is taken care of from the moment you walk in.
Is seating general admission or reserved?
Seating works by request. When you book, you can choose where you’d like to sit on our seating map, and we use those requests to guide our layout for the night. In some cases we may adjust seating slightly so we can avoid single empty seats and keep groups together. If you have a preference or an accessibility need, you can share it when you book and we will do our best to accommodate it.
How do I get my tickets?
When you book through our website, your tickets and meal selections are emailed to you right away. You can bring the PDF on your phone or print it if you like, but you don’t need to. When you arrive, just tell us the name the tickets were booked under and we will check you in and walk your group to your table.
I didn’t get a confirmation email?
If your confirmation email hasn’t shown up, take a quick look in your junk or spam folder. If it’s still missing, reach out through
our contact page so we can make sure your order went through and resend the details. Every booking is saved under the name you used at checkout, so once we’ve confirmed it on our end, we can check you in when you arrive.
Can I give my ticket to someone else?
Yes. If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to have someone else use your ticket. They’ll just need to check in under the name the booking was made under, since that’s what we use at the door. If you’d like us to update the name on the order, you can reach out through our contact page and we can look after it.
A few things to keep in mind: Meal selections can’t be changed within 72 hours because our caterer begins preparing ingredients. Tickets can’t be resold for profit. And for licensed events, the person attending needs to meet the age requirements.
How fast do shows sell out?
Many performances sell out ahead of time, especially on weekends. Some shows fill weeks in advance, while others fill closer to the 72-hour sales cutoff. If you have a specific date in mind or you’re planning a group outing, booking early is the safest option.
Why do tickets cost what they do?
Each ticket covers your full dinner theatre experience. This includes your three‑course meal, the work of our caterer and kitchen team, the cast and crew who create the show, and the staff who look after you throughout the night. It also supports the behind‑the‑scenes costs that make live theatre possible in Saskatoon, from rehearsal time to lighting, sound, and the space we perform in.
We keep our pricing as fair as we can while making sure the artists and teams involved are paid properly and the experience stays at the standard our guests expect.
What is the MFT Season Pass?
The MFT Season Pass is a prepaid way to enjoy the full season. It includes one performance of each of our four productions, along with a meal at every show. Passholders also receive early access to request their preferred seats before tickets go on sale to the public.
Pre-sale for Season 11 opens on July 13, 2026. You must be logged in to your MFT account to make your requests.
If you attend with a regular group, the simplest approach is for one person to purchase all the passes and submit the seating requests for the entire group. Seats must be booked together to sit together, and separate requests are rarely able to be combined once pre-sale begins.
We do our best to honour seating requests during early access; however, adjustments may be necessary to consolidate and sell empty individual seats between groups.
Each pass covers one person for all four shows in the season. MFT reserves the right to cancel passes or tickets without refund if more seats are requested during pre‑sale than were prepaid.
How much is the MFT Season Pass?
Season 11 MFT Season Passes are priced at $290 each, plus applicable fees and taxes. Each pass includes early access to request your preferred seats for all four productions in the season, along with a meal at every show.
How do I get an MFT Season Pass?
To buy a pass, you will need a free MFT account. If you have purchased through our website before, you may already have one. When buying passes, you will be prompted to log in or create an account, and you will use the same account to make your seating and meal requests during pre-sale.
Season 11 MFT Season Passes go on sale to the public on July 13, 2026. Passes remain available until sold out or until pre-sale begins for the first show of the season.
Contact us to purchase or learn more.
Can I buy more than one MFT Season Pass?
Yes! Buying more than one MFT Season Pass is not only allowed — it’s encouraged. Many guests purchase passes for their whole group so everyone can enjoy the season together without coordinating separate bookings.
For the smoothest experience, one person should purchase all the passes for the group and submit the seating requests during pre-sale. Seats must be booked together to sit together, and separate requests are not always able to be combined once pre-sale begins.
Most tables seat up to nine guests, and some can be expanded to ten upon request. Smaller or overflow groups may be seated with others to make sure tables are used well.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your card will be charged in full at the time of purchase, whether you buy online or through our Box Office staff. This applies to MFT Season Passes and regular tickets.
When will I receive my MFT Season Pass?
Your MFT Season Pass will be emailed to you within 5 to 10 minutes after your purchase is processed. If you don’t see it, check your junk or spam folder.
How do I use my pass for priority seating requests?
When pre-sale opens, typically 14 days before public sales, log in to your MFT account through our Box Office page. Select your performance date and enter your meal choices. You must be logged in to access pre-sale and request seats tied to your pass.
Once public sales begin for a show, priority request access ends for that production.
How do I request seats for a group?
If one person bought all the passes, they can request seats for the entire group during pre-sale. If passes are under different names, each pass holder must log in and make their own request. Be sure to mention your group name when booking.
Adjacent seats are not guaranteed if requests are made separately. To ensure your group is seated together, we strongly recommend having one person purchase all passes and make the seating requests.
Can someone without a pass sit with us?
Possibly. Requests to seat non‑pass holders with pass holders are considered only after pre-sale ends and are subject to availability.
Pass holders cannot use early access to reserve seats for non‑pass holders. Any tickets purchased during pre-sale without a valid pass may be cancelled, and the associated pass may be revoked without refund.
If someone without a pass wants to sit with your group, they should mention your group name when booking. We will try to accommodate, but priority is always given to pass holders and seating depends on available space.
Can I change my booking to a different date?
Yes. Changes, including meal selections and dietary requests, can be made up to 72 hours before the performance. After that point, changes cannot be accommodated due to catering deadlines.
If the Box Office is already open to the public, your priority seating may no longer be guaranteed, although we will do our best to accommodate your request based on availability.
Can I transfer my pass to someone else?
Yes. Passes can be transferred to another person, provided they meet the legal age requirement for licensed events. Reselling passes for profit is not allowed and will result in cancellation without refund.
Can I cancel my pass?
Yes. Refunds are available at any time during the season, except within 72 hours of a scheduled performance. Refunds are adjusted to reflect any shows already attended and do not include processing fees.
To request a refund, email the Box Office and include your original confirmation email.
Refunds or rainchecks are not issued for unused passes if no seating or meal request was made while performances were still available to book.
What kind of food is served at evening performances?
Evening performances include a plated, multi-course meal prepared by our local caterer and served before the show. Menus vary by production and regularly feature hearty mains, a starter, and a dessert. Guests choose their meal when booking, which keeps the evening relaxed and makes it easy to enjoy a night out in Saskatoon.
Is dinner included in the ticket price?
Yes. Your ticket includes your full meal before the show. Evening performances include a plated three‑course dinner, and matinée tickets include The MFT Brunch buffet. A full bar is available with alcoholic and non‑alcoholic options, including our rotating show-specific cocktails and specialty coffees.
Are Sunday matinées buffet style?
Yes. Sunday matinées feature The MFT Brunch, a brunch buffet served before the afternoon performance. It is a relaxed, help-yourself experience that gives guests time to enjoy conversation and a meal before settling in for the show.
Do I need to choose my meal ahead of time?
Yes. For evening performances, you’ll choose your meal when you book your tickets. This helps our caterer prepare accurately and keeps everything running smoothly on the night of the show. Meal choices stay open until ticket sales close, which is usually 72 hours before the performance. For The MFT Brunch, no advance meal selection is needed because it’s buffet style.
How is the matinée meal different from the evening shows?
Evening performances include plated dinner service with meal choices made when booking. Sunday matinées are buffet style, offering a help-yourself brunch experience. Both meals are served before the performance, but the style and service are different.
Will the brunch buffet menu change throughout the season?
The brunch buffet menu may change slightly from time to time, but the overall style and selection remain consistent throughout the season. Any updates will be reflected on our website.
I have dietary restrictions. Will I be okay at the matinée buffet?
Most guests with dietary needs are able to enjoy The MFT Brunch. Gluten-free options will be available. Vegetarian options may not be guaranteed at matinées, and unlike our evening shows, we may not be able to accommodate all special meal requests.
Please include any allergies or dietary needs when booking. Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours before the performance so our caterer can prepare options where possible. If we cannot accommodate a specific request, we will contact you before your show.
What is the price for a Sunday matinée ticket?
Sunday matinée tickets include The MFT Brunch and are priced the same way as our evening performances. Current pricing is listed on our website under each show.
Do you accommodate dietary needs?
Yes. We can accommodate most dietary needs with advance notice. Please include any allergies or dietary requests when booking. Requests must be submitted at least 72 hours before the performance so our kitchen can prepare an appropriate meal. Vegetarian and allergy friendly options are available for most evening performances.
For Sunday matinées, please note that The MFT Brunch is a buffet. While our catering partner takes care in how items are prepared and presented, buffet service naturally carries a risk of cross‑contamination. Shared utensils, guest traffic, and open serving stations mean we cannot guarantee that any item will be free from trace allergens. Guests with severe allergies should be aware that cross‑contact is always possible in a buffet environment.
If you have a severe allergy or a medical dietary requirement, please tell us when booking. We will advise you on available options and let you know if we are unable to safely accommodate your request.
Is alcohol served?
Yes. A full bar is available at all performances. Drinks are not included in the ticket price. Guests must be 19 or older and may be asked to show ID.
Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Outside food and beverages are not permitted, with the exception of medically-required items. If you have a medical need, please contact the Box Office before your performance.
Can I book for a group or private event?
Yes. Groups of any size are welcome at Mini Fridge Theatre Company. Lots of Saskatoon teams and families choose us for staff parties, workplace outings, birthdays, and celebrations because it’s an easy night out with dinner and live comedy in one place. If your group wants to sit together, reaching out early gives you the best chance of getting the date you want.
For group bookings in Saskatoon, email the Box Office with your group size and the date you’re considering. We’ll walk you through the options and help you plan a relaxed, fun night out.
Can we book a whole evening for a staff party or special event?
Yes. Full evening bookings are available for workplace groups, celebrations, and special events, depending on availability. Many Saskatoon groups choose to reserve an entire performance because it’s a private, easy to plan night with a meal and a comedy show all in one spot. Whether it’s a staff party, a milestone birthday, or an anniversary night out, booking the whole evening gives your group the space to relax and enjoy the show together.
If you’re interested in reserving a full evening, contact the Box Office with your preferred date and approximate group size. Evenings can fill quickly, especially during the fall and holiday season, so getting in touch early is the simplest way to secure the night you want.
How long is the show? Is there an intermission?
Most shows run between 90 minutes and 2 hours with a short intermission. It’s just enough time to stretch, grab a drink, and chat about your favourite moment so far. Doors open about 90 minutes before showtime so you can enjoy your meal first and settle in before the performance begins.
Can I take photos or videos during the show?
No. Recording or photography isn’t allowed during the performance. It helps us respect licensing and keeps the experience focused on the story. You’re welcome to take photos before or after the show, and our staff can help if you’d like a group picture.
Can I leave and come back during the show?
Yes, but re‑entry may be delayed. To keep the performance running smoothly, guests who step out might need to wait for a natural break or intermission before returning to their seats. If you know you’ll need to step out, our staff can help you plan the best time.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept debit, Visa, and MasterCard. Cash is also welcome, but there’s no ATM on site, so it’s best to plan ahead. Gift certificates can be used for tickets and MFT Season Pass purchases.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. Refunds are available with a few conditions. If you contact us more than 72 hours before your performance, we can offer a full refund. Between 25 and 72 hours, we can try to reschedule you or offer a refund minus a catering fee. Within 24 hours, refunds aren’t available unless the show is cancelled or changed.
By purchasing a ticket, you agree to these terms. If you’re unsure which option applies to you, reach out to the Box Office and we’ll walk you through it.
What is your COVID 19 policy?
Proof of vaccination isn’t required at this time unless a specific show states otherwise. We follow all Saskatchewan Health Authority and provincial guidelines. If you’re feeling unwell, we encourage you to rest up and join us another time when you’re feeling better.
