Frequently asked questions
What is your COVID-19 policy? Is proof of vaccination required?
Currently, proof of vaccination will not be required to attend performances at Mini Fridge Theatre Company unless otherwise indicated on a specific show date.
We follow all policies for restaurants and theatres as mandated by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) as well as all public health measures instituted by the Government of Saskatchewan. We encourage our patrons to follow all guidance put out by the SHA and the government as well.
Masking is not mandatory in the building but is encouraged in the common areas outside of the audience seating zone. We will have masks freely available and will provide hand sanitizer stations throughout venue areas accessed by our patrons. Contact information will be collected and we will document the names and contact information of any patrons who, for any reason, use a ticket issued under another person's name. Nightly cleanings will take place after each performance.
We take your privacy seriously and will limit access, use and retention of the information you provide and we thank you in advance for helping ensure the safety of everyone attending an MFT event.
Is your staff vaccinated?
All Mini Fridge Theatre Company staff and performers are all fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
What happens if someone finds out they contracted COVID-19 after seeing a recent show?
If a recent patron receives a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, we ask that they reach out to us immediately.
What is the MFT Season Pass?
The MFT Season Pass acts as a discounted subscription for the current season and allows you to purchase the same number of tickets for each show in the season at one time. When members of the MFT community call or email to book their pass(es), each pass holder is placed in sequence on our call list to book exclusive priority seating for each show of the season.
How can I get an MFT Season Pass?
Call 306-203-4657 or email seasonpass@minifridgetheatre.com to book or learn more. Passes are currently only available for the three remaining shows within the 2022/23 season and will be unavailable after sales end for "Aboveboard" by Peter Bloedel and Emily Kimball.
What are the benefits of a season pass?
Get your seats as close as possible to the front row! With the MFT Season Pass, not only is it possible to save over 10% on individual ticket purchases, you can also beat the rush and receive exclusive priority seating on a performance date of your choosing. Throughout the season — and before tickets are made available to the general public for each show — pass holders will be called in the order they booked their passes and will have the ability to book a performance on an available date of their choosing.
Pass holders are given up to 10 days to book their seating and confirm their meal options before the box office opens to the general public for each show. Even better, they are able to book directly with our box office employees who will complete the booking process over the phone, much like a travel agent.
NOTE: Once the box office has been opened to the public for that particular show within the current season and the rest of the performances begin to be booked, pass holders will no longer be able to access priority seating.
How much can I save?
MFT Season Passes for the rest of the season are currently available for $165.00 (plus applicable fees and taxes) and will provide access and discounts to the remaining three shows in the current season — a savings of $5 on each performance!
How do I use my pass to access priority seating?
To take advantage of priority seating, MFT Pass holders will be contacted to confirm performance date and meal option(s). To attend Aboveboard, pass holders should receive an online form via email on October 18, 2022. Pass holders who have not received an email after this time are encouraged to check their spam folders. Please contact Mini Fridge Theatre Company if you have not received an email from us by Oct. 19.
Can I buy more than one MFT Season Pass?
There is no limit to the number of season tickets a person can purchase; however, the maximum number of seats at any single table is nine. In some cases, smaller groups (or overflow from larger groups) may be seated at tables booked by other parties to maximize space in the venue.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept payments made with credit card, or by gift certificate.
When will my credit card be charged?
Typically, your credit card will be charged in full at the time your booking is processed.
What if I need to move the booking of my MFT Season Pass to a different day?
Any changes to an existing booking can be made up to 72 hours prior to the show date. This includes meal changes and any dietary restrictions. If the MFT Box Office has already been made open to the general public, priority seating placement may be lost. Every attempt will be made to accommodate priority seating but will be dependent upon seating availability at the time of the request.
Requests for changes within 72 hours of performance cannot be honoured, due to order deadlines with our caterer.
When will I receive my tickets?
Your MFT Season Pass will be issued to you when box office personnel complete your initial purchase. The email should appear in your inbox almost immediately. Please be sure to check your junk/spam folder if you do not see your confirmation within a few minutes of purchase.
I wish to cancel my subscription. What do I do?
MFT Season Pass refunds are available at any time in the season (with the exception of booking cancellations less than 72 hours before a performance). Refunds may be adjusted to reflect the number of any previously claimed performances within the season and will not include applicable processing fees.
To request a refund, please email seasonpass@minifridgetheatre.com with your request and forward or attach the purchase confirmation email you were originally provided at time of initial purchase.
May I transfer my season tickets to another party?
In an effort to be fair to all MFT Season Pass holders, subscriptions are non-transferrable. If a subscriber decides to relinquish subscription access on any particular performance, Mini Fridge Theatre Company will attempt to honour the sequence of other pass holders next in line to receive seating priority.
Can we invite other people to join us at our table if they don’t have an MFT Season Pass?
MFT Season Pass holders may not use their early box office access to book additional seats for members of the general public who do not have a season pass. The general public will receive access to the MFT Box Office after priority seating has been offered to MFT Season Pass members.
People without an MFT Season Pass who wish to be seated with pass holders may indicate the name of the group they would like to be seated with when they order tickets through the box office. Depending on seating availability and other priority seating assignments at the time of the request, certain exceptions may be possible; however, Mini Fridge Theatre Company reserves the right to prioritize and accommodate the seating of MFT Season Pass members while also maximizing the use of space within the performance venue.
How do I get (and pick up) my tickets?
Tickets are available exclusively on the Mini Fridge Theatre Company website. Tickets can be printed and brought to the event or can be displayed on a mobile device at time of check-in. If you do not see an email from us within a few minutes, please check your junk/spam folder in case the confirmation email and your ticket were delivered there instead of your inbox.
NOTE: If you're placing an order for a group, let the members of your party know to check their email for their ticket if you entered unique addresses for each person.
Am I allowed to give tickets in my name to someone else?
We understand there may be times or circumstances where you would like to gift, or transfer the tickets you have purchased to another individual. In this case, you must advise the box office of the updated patron name and any applicable changes to group seating as well as any meal changes at least three days in advance of the performance. Meal changes cannot be made less than 72 hours prior to an upcoming event. with the exception of tickets donated for charitable purposes such as fundraisers and raffles, you may not re-sell a ticket for profit. Any tickets that have been determined to be re-sold will become void. You may not transfer a ticket to a minor for licensed events where minors are not permitted.
Is it possible to buy just show tickets (at a lesser cost) and not the dinner?
At this time, we do not offer a show-only concept; however, there may be events in the future that offer an opportunity for general seating.
How early do you suggest we arrive?
Doors open promptly at the time indicated on our website and your ticket — most often at 5:30pm, with dinner service starting at 6pm. Please expect to wait 5-10 minutes to be seated at your designated table depending on the number of other attendees in the queue. We thank you in advance for your patience with us during any wait times encountered as a result of our audience check-in process.
How are ticket costs determined? Where is my money going?
Each Mini Fridge Theatre Company show has unique elements required to bring you an enjoyable evening. Generally speaking, ticket revenue covers costs such as performance rights, event and venue insurance, venue and caterer expenses, set design, props and costume rental or creation, promotional costs, box office and website management, and—of course—payment to the cast and crew helping deliver the amazing laughs at each show!
Where are you located?
Mini Fridge Theatre Company productions are currently being performed at St. John's Anglican Hall (816 Spadina Crescent East Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7K 3H4).
NOTE: St. John's Anglican Hall is different from its landmark cathedral. Our performances are held in the hall building just beside the cathedral.
Is parking available?
Street parking regulated by the City of Saskatoon is available nearby. There is also a paid parking lot adjacent to the St. John’s Cathedral Hall — our performance venue.
Are shows general admission or reserved seating?
All ticket admissions are purchased through our seating system on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be aware when booking that, due to limited table space, you may be seated with another party if your group will occupy less than the maximum seats available at a table. Mini Fridge Theatre Company reserves the right to adjust bookings and safely fill the tables so that all patrons can enjoy the dinner theatre experience. If you have any concerns or questions regarding how to book your group through our system, please feel free to email our box office.
Are there age restrictions to your performances?
Yes. Due to restrictions with our liquor licensing, all events are 19+. No minors are permitted.
Is your venue accessible for disabled patrons?
St. John's Anglican Cathedral Hall is fully equipped to accommodate all patrons. It offers an accessible elevator in the front entrance of the theatre. Accessible stalls are available in private washrooms upon request. Please ask a staff member for details.
Do you serve alcohol?
We have obtained Special Occasion permits to serve alcoholic beverages at all performances. These include a variety of local beers and wines during meal service and the intermission. As such, Mini Fridge Theatre Company events are all currently 19+. No minors permitted.
Is there a coat check? Is there a fee?
For events happening during periods of bad weather or extreme cold, a coat room can be made available for those wishing to use it. Unfortunately, we do not offer a staffed coat check service at this time, so use of the coat room is at each patron’s own risk.
What methods of payment do you accept? Do we need cash? Is there an ATM on site?
Contactless payment methods are preferred. We accept most payment options, including debit, Visa, MasterCard, GooglePay or ApplePay, and—yes— even cash. Unfortunately, our venue does not offer ATM services at this time.
Am I permitted to bring in outside food or drink?
No outside food or beverages are allowed in the theatre. Coffee, tea and water are available free of charge.
Can you accommodate larger groups for corporate or festive (friends/family) events?
Businesses or large parties wishing to book a private event are encouraged to email the box office for information on opportunities for large groups. We are happy to accommodate special events or Christmas party bookings whenever possible.
Do you offer refunds?
You may request to cancel your ticket for a full refund up to 72 hours before the date and time of the event. Cancellations between 25-72 hours before the event may be transferred to a different date/time of the same event; however, due to coordination with multiple factors (caterer, venue, seating space, etc.), this cannot be guaranteed. If we are unable to accommodate within this time frame, refunds can be requested, less a 30% fee for catering.
Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the show date/time may not receive a refund nor a transfer—unless the performance is cancelled, rescheduled, or there is a material change to the programme of event. When you buy your ticket for a show, you agree to these terms.
Once inside, may I leave the theatre and come back? If I leave once the show has begun, will I be allowed to re-enter?
To help ensure an uninterrupted and delightful experience for all attendees, Mini Fridge Theatre Company may refuse latecomers admission to the auditorium or may delay their re-entry until a suitable break or interval within the performance takes place. The same applies to those leaving during a performance.
How long are your performances? Is there an intermission?
Most of our performances are all considered full-length (approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours), with one 15-minute intermission.
Is it okay to take photos/videos of your live performance?
The use of equipment for recording or transmitting (by digital or other means) any audio, visual or audio-visual material or any information or data inside the venue is strictly forbidden unless attendees are informed otherwise. Unauthorized recordings, tapes, films, or similar items may be confiscated and destroyed in order to honour the terms under which performance rights were acquired for each show.
Can a group book an entire evening for a staff party or special event?
Yes! Mini Fridge Theatre Company offers special group rates for its Saskatoon performances (subject to availability at time of inquiry). Contact us to have a discussion about your needs and the date(s) you're interested in.
What other types of events do you offer?
From specialized live corporate events to interactive murder mystery nights, MFT can provide a variety of entertainment options depending on your needs. We've even taken shows on the road to support local fundraisers and have written variety shows for staff appreciation events. Let us know what you're interested in and we'll be happy to discuss options with you and your group.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! Please feel free to contact our box office for all your gift certificate needs. We offer gift certificates in any denomination you would like.
Can I donate old costumes or unique props?
Depending on the show, we’re often looking for hard-to-find items. If you have something that you’d like us to take a look at, let us know and we’d be happy to consider it. Storage is an issue for us, so we can’t accept all items but we would certainly be interested in seeing a photo or having a conversation!
Can I be in (or help out with) an upcoming show?
If you’d like to be in an upcoming MFT production, visit our auditions page for more information. To learn more about opportunities with our backstage crew (set building/design, stage management, costume support, sound/lighting, etc.), send us an email and let us know what you have in mind!
