"A smash hit! Two hours of non-stop laughter. The plot weaves you through mix-ups and mayhem you won't believe. This is one funny show you don't want to miss!"
— Jim Fordyce, ABC 53
Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go!
In a cheap motel room, an embezzling mayor is supposed to meet with his female accountant while, in the room next-door, two undercover cops wait to catch the meeting on videotape. But there's some confusion as to who's in which room, who's being videotaped, who's taken the money, who's hired a hit man, and why the accountant is having these funny feelings.

Meet the cast & crew
Chris Utigard
"Officer Eric Sheridan"
It's been a few years since Christopher was last on the stage, so he's thrilled to be part of this production. This is his first season with Mini Fridge Theatre Company (whose existence he only discovered late last season!) and his second time on stage as a befuddled police officer.
He's looking forward to the new season and hopes you are as well!
Brookelynn Allan
"Officer Billie Dwyer"
Brookelynn has been counting down the days to the debut of Unnecessary Farce, her fourth show and her fourth season with Mini Fridge Theatre Company. Her past work with Mini Fridge includes roles in Larry Shue's The Foreigner and Philip King's See How They Run as well as being stage manager for Marc Camoletti's Don't Dress for Dinner.
The eclectic cast and crew keep her coming back year after year for more — not to mention the delightful and supportive audience!
Lindsay Woods
"Karen Brown"
Lindsay joined the MFT crew earlier this year as assistant stage manager for season seven’s Weekend Comedy and had such a great time that she stuck around to make her Saskatoon on-stage debut with a bang. It’s always a fun challenge to play a character who is so different from yourself… such as playing an accountant while being terrible at math in real life! Lindsay had previously been involved in several on- and off-stage roles with Swift Current Little Theatre.
She hopes you have a wonderful evening and hopes the show is as much of a treat and a joy to watch as it was to put together.
Terry Schroell
"Agent Frank"
Welcome back!
Hey kids, guess what? After years of directing, constructing set and bussing and washing your dishes, I've decided to give performance a try! Depending on your reaction, my next step will be Broadway or back to the dish pit... either way, I'm set for life.
Enjoy the show!
Sean Kapell
"Todd"
Sean has not written a bio for this production.
Seeing as he is being knocked unconscious four times a night for this show and was knocked out twice a night during his previous show — Philip King’s See How They Run — Mini Fridge has decided to let this slide.
Larry Fitzgerald
"Mayor Meekly"
Since Larry began acting at the U of S Drama Department (in the 70s!), he has performed nearly two hundred roles!
His big love is for comedy, as he gets to shed every last ounce of dignity and self-respect. With Unnecessary Farce (his fifth Mini Fridge Theatre Company play), he sees great opportunity for further self-humiliation.
Kassidy Guy
"Mary Meekly"
Kassidy is beyond excited to make her debut with Mini Fridge Theatre Company. In her grand return to the stage, Kassidy is most excited to hear her friends, family, and loved ones in the audience laughing and having a great time.
Kassidy currently works in marketing and communications at the University of Saskatchewan, and enjoys spending her free time reading, camping, listening to Taylor Swift, and taking part in town festivities throughout Saskatoon.
Rod Hutchinson
Director
Rod is excited to once again be directing for Mini Fridge Theatre Company. He last directed this past winter, helming the production of Jeanne and Sam Bobrick’s Weekend Comedy. He has also been seen on the MFT stage in Philip King’s See How They Run and Norm Foster’s The Foursome.
He hopes you all enjoy the show!
Christine Unger
Stage Manager
Christine is delighted to be part of Mini Fridge Theatre Company’s production of Unnecessary Farce. She began participating in theatre 18 years ago with Stage North in Fort St John, BC, and is pleased to be welcomed into the MFT family. She has worked backstage on many shows and most recently onstage in last season’s final show, The Ladies Foursome by Norm Foster.
The theatre is a wonderful place to get lost in another world. Please eat heartily and laugh loudly—some farce is, in fact, necessary!

“From the intriguing opening mini play-within-a-play to the surprise last scene a split second before final curtain, The Game’s Afoot gives you everything you love about great live theatre. Billed as a comedy thriller you will find yourself swept along for a wild and funny ride.”
— Cleveland Examiner
Breathtaking mystery and high hilarity in equal parts, this play tells the story of Broadway star William Gillette, who has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, who just happens to think he’s Sherlock Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears.
The danger and laughter are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays!
CONTENT ADVISORY: This production includes gunshot sounds and scenes which may disturb some audience members.
** Pre-sale for MFT Season Pass Holders begins Oct. 16. Tickets go on sale to the general public Oct. 30 **
