“Bingo is about winning and THE QUEEN OF BINGO is a jackpot of a show” — Bingo Bugle

Where can two sisters on the other side of fifty, who want to add a little zest, fun and excitement to their lives, find it? Bingo!

On any Bingo night at St. Joseph’s, you can find Father Mac, Lonnie and Cindy Conklin, Marge Meranski, Coach Anderson, and the many offbeat, colourful regulars we meet through the eyes of Sis and Babe. They dish the dirt, giggle like school girls and share old memories.

Sis and Babe are sisters and best friends. They’ve been coming to play Bingo together for years because they love it. Sis is a good loser who just loves to play. Babe is a player who has always got to win. Sis is naturally fit and trim. Babe is naturally overweight and always fighting the battle of the bulge. Sis is content in her widowhood. Babe is still looking for love. They compliment each other in ways only sisters can and they drive each other crazy in that same sisterly fashion.

On this particular night, Babe and Sis share something new as they each confess a secret and find a special kind of redemption.

Mini Fridge audiences can join in on the fun during the "Middle Bird Special" — a 'real' Bingo game where a lucky audience member wins a free prize at every performance!

Meet the cast & crew

Headshot of actor Dawn Bell from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Dawn Bell

"Sis"

This is Dawn's third show with Mini Fridge Theatre Company. Yes, she's a sucker for punishment!

Playing an older woman has been a challenge — but the hot flashes are real.

Really, really, real ...

Headshot of actor Liz Scott from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Liz Scott

"Babe"

Liz has been acting for almost 20 years and is delighted to be joining Mini Fridge Theatre Company for the first time.

She has loved playing the character of Babe and hopes that you enjoy her as much as she has. Liz would like to dedicate her performance in memory of her mother-in-law who loved Bingo!

Headshot of actor Larry Fitzgerald from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Larry Fitzgerald

"Father Mac"

Due to his Catholic genes, Larry assumes he has a dormant Bingo virus just waiting to ‘outbreak’ so he hopes this show will give him a vaccine-like exposure and prevent a full blown Bingo Delta wave.

If he is a carrier though, in a couple of weeks, susceptible audience members can expect to be surrounding themselves with troll doll good luck charms and throwing away the family grocery allowance. Hope your numbers get called.

Michael Neuert

Michael Neuert

Director

Although Michael is more used to being on stage, he does enjoy the moments when, as a director, he can tell others what to do and they have to listen to him.

Michael thanks his beautiful, wonderful wife for allowing him out of the house to help bring this play to life for you.

Headshot of director Jason Weckert from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Jason Weckert

Producer

When asked to provide a bio for the show, Jason simply wrote: “Jason Weckert does lights and sound. Has done them for many years. The end.”

This time, he's doing all that plus producing duties.

Rod Hutchinson

Rod Hutchinson

Stage Manager / "Bingo Caller"

Rod is pleased to be working with Mini Fridge Theatre Company once again.

He has previously acted and stage managed with the company and thought it might be interesting to try both at once. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Hate Mail FB Event

"Extremely humorous and literate script...I laughed so much it hurt."
— Ventura County Reporter

When Preston writes a furious letter to a store demanding a refund for a broken snow globe, he gets assistant manager Dahlia fired — and finds a vengeful epistolary match!

In this wickedly funny comedy, the two embark on an epic, often acrimonious correspondence as their lives intertwine. Whether Preston and Dahlia are joining cults, having breakdowns, shipping each other deceased lizards, or falling in love, Hate Mail is a two-person comedy full of surprises at every turn.
