Murder at Cafe Noir Event Promo
Murder at Cafe Noir Web Poster

"A feast for connoisseurs of mystery."
— Orange County Daily Pilot

The owner of the Café Noir has washed ashore murdered and detective Rick Archer's quarry was the last person seen with him!

This is a detective story come to life featuring a hard-boiled private eye out to find a runaway on the forgotten island of Mustique, a place stuck in the black-and-white era of the 1940s.

Rick needs to find the killer before it's too late! Was it the local madame and club manager, the voodoo priestess, the shyster British attorney, the black marketeer, or the femme fatale?

We'll never tell!

CONTENT ADVISORY: This production includes gunshot sounds which may disturb some audience members.

Meet the cast & crew

Grant_Biebrick_2024

Grant Biebrick

"Richard Archer"

After a not-quite-disastrous debut with MFT's Christmas production Ken Ludwig’s The Game's Afoot last season, Grant once again returns to the Mini Fridge stage for Show #2. This time with more lines, along with some dancing and singing.  (Triple threat?)

When not on stage, Grant is typically found in his natural habitat — BBQing burgers for his kids and stopping his food-crazed Beagle from stealing said burgers off the counter.  (Buffy, no!)

Thank you for your support and laughter!

Catriona_Muir_2024

Catriona Muir

"Shiela Wanderly"

This is Catriona's second season with Mini Fridge Theatre Company. She is very excited to be playing Shiela Wanderly in Café Noir, having fallen in love with the genre, style and character. In past years, she has also appeared as Madge Geisel in Ken Ludwig’s The Game's Afoot (more murder and mayhem — what fun!) and in the musicals Anne of Green Gables and Mary Poppins (McClure United).

When not on the stage, you can find Catriona on the stage — at Crackers — for karaoke league. She hopes you enjoy the performance as much as she does.

Merry Christmas!

Omonike_Charles_Binitie

Omonike Charles-Binitie

"Madam Toureau"

Omonike is a recent immigrant to Canada, and having survived her first MFT production, she appears to be a junkie for suffering by accepting to be in Café Noir! (Lol).

Being Madam Toureau in this role asks her to dig deep into her soul and show the world — at least, Saskatoon — who Madam truly is.

Omonike is so glad to have found acceptance and a family with Mini Fridge and can't wait for you all to experience this play.

Lex_Barry

Lex Barry

"Anthony Cairo"

Lex (they/she) is excited to be performing with Mini Fridge Theatre Company for the first time! Lex has spent the past couple of years performing in every show they can and are quite happy to have another show under their belt.

Select acting credits include: Withering Youth, She Kills Monsters, The Trials, Contaminated (Persephone Young Company), The Full Monty, Fun Home (SSP), Homosexual Meleagris, Your Sushi’s Favourite Sushi (Queermunity), 16 the Musical (Live Fully Productions), The Wizard of Oz, SpongeBob the Musical (Persephone Musical Academy).

When they're not busy with rehearsals (which is almost never) you can find them making chainmail for their small business, filming short films with their friends, and daydreaming about living on a dull tropical island.

Meow:)

Monika_Holman

Monika Holman

"Marie LaRue"

Monika Holman (she/her) has been performing in the Saskatoon theatre community since 2005 when she was cast in her first show outside of high school — The Lottery Ham at the Off Broadway Dinner Theatre.

Since then, she has performed in the various shows with Floyd Festival, The Saskatoon Fringe, and various interactive murder mystery dinner theatre companies.

While she loves trying on new hobbies, her most recent passion is circus arts.

Wade_Lahoda2

Wade Lahoda

"Simon Gutterman"

Wade is pleased to be returning for his third show with Mini Fridge Theatre Company, and in his sleaziest role yet!

Wade has previously been in shows with Saskatoon Gateway Players and Newman Players, and he keeps getting cast as authority figures like police officers, religious leaders, and lawyers which he finds endlessly entertaining.

Headshot of actor Mark Reimer from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Mark Reimer

"Thursby" "Vangilder" and "Rigfield"

Mark Reimer enjoys acting, biking, and a good book.
His identical twin brother, Marcus Rainier, is partial to classical music and poetry. His other identical twin brother, Mack Ringo, likes wrestling and monster truck rallies.
Headshot of director Elizabeth Reynolds from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Elizabeth Reynolds

Director

Liz Reynolds is a principal by day and a director by night, and she loves both roles.

Mini Fridge Theatre Company has given her the opportunity to direct and work with amazing people, and this motley crew of actors is no exception.

She has had an absolute blast bringing this little piece of Film Noir to life, and hopes you enjoy the ride.

Christine_Unger3

Christine Unger

Stage Manager

Christine is delighted to be working backstage on Murder at the Café Noir. Her first musical is proving to be more fun than work! The cast is professional and she feels truly fortunate to be working with them.

She hopes that you enjoy watching it as much as she has enjoyed working on it.
