Hate Mail FB Event APRIL DATES

"Extremely humorous and literate script...I laughed so much it hurt."
— Ventura County Reporter

When Preston writes a furious letter to a store demanding a refund for a broken snow globe, he gets assistant manager Dahlia fired — and finds a vengeful epistolary match!

In this wickedly funny comedy, the two embark on an epic, often acrimonious correspondence as their lives intertwine. Whether Preston and Dahlia are joining cults, having breakdowns, shipping each other deceased lizards, or falling in love, Hate Mail is a two-person comedy full of surprises at every turn.

Meet the cast & crew

Headshot of actor Gareth Nicol from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Gareth Nicol

"Preston"

Gareth appeared previously in Cookin' with Gus, The Foreigner, Don't Dress for Dinner, and is very happy to be back on stage making Art with MFT.

Well art is art, isn't it? And water is water, and east is east, and west is west. And if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce, they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now tell me what you know.

Mikala Henderson

"Dahlia"

Mikala Henderson is back for another Mini Fridge Theatre Company show and she's better than ever! She's more creative, more intelligent, and more self-assured than ever before! You'll find her stretching her acting abilities to play an artsy intellectual who has a false sense of confidence and who doesn't know where she belongs. Unlike Mikala, who is none of those things. And perfect.

Watch her character try her okayest and enjoy the ups and downs of imperfect people trying to find their perfect place in the world!

Elizabeth_Reynolds

Elizabeth Reynolds

Director

Liz Reynolds has been writing and directing since childhood. She is the principal at Allegro Montessori School here in the city and adores her students. She writes, draws, reads, camps, and she laughs at life a lot.

She hopes you like the show. Enjoy the ride everyone!

Becky_Hendrickson

Becky Hendrickson

Producer

Becky Hendrickson has been involved in theatre with various groups for over 85 years. She was last seen on stage in Mini Fridge Theatre Company’s production of Last of the Red Hot Lovers by Neil Simon and directed the 2019 season opener— Cookin' with Gus by Jim Brochu.

She hopes you enjoy Mini Fridge Theatre's latest offering, and thanks you for supporting local theatre!

Headshot of actor and stage manager Lana Lehr from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Lana Lehr

Stage Manager

Lana is thrilled to be working with the inspiring and resilient crew of Mini Fridge Theatre Company again! After two COVID-cancellations of this production, hours of rehearsals at various locations, and three different menus, we have all agreed that the third time is the charm!

When not backstage or onstage, Lana can be found wandering the halls of a high school, reminding teenagers to fix their masks, and explaining why Shakespeare is still relevant.

She hopes you find this show as charming and disarming as she does!
