"Critic weeps joyfully... I don't think anybody stopped laughing while the curtain was up last evening."
— New York Daily News

Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong does.

Meet the cast & crew

Rose_Christie

Rose Christie

"Corie Bratter"

Rose Christie is thrilled to make her MFT debut after nearly a decade off stage. When she’s not on stage, she spends her time writing romance novels (under an assumed name) and masquerading as a sorceress with friends in her basement.

Parker_Lavoie2

Parker Lavoie

"Paul Bratter"

Single dad. No kids.

Christine_Unger3

Christine Unger

"Mrs. Banks"

Christine is delighted to be back on the Mini Fridge Theatre Company stage. She was on stage in Norm Foster’s The Ladies Foursome last season and worked backstage on Paul Slade Smith’s Unnecessary Farce and Norm Foster’s Sinners this season.

Working on Barefoot in the Park has shown her how far we have come as a society in the 60 years since it was written but also how far we have yet to go. Regardless, she hopes you enjoy your evening as much as she enjoys bringing Ethel Banks to life each night.

Larry Fitzgerald

"Victor Velasco"

What Larry loves about acting is getting to be someone very different from himself. For example, in “Barefoot” (his sixth Mini Fridge Theatre Company show) he plays a worldly gourmet chef. In real life though, there is that annoying emergency clause in the Canadian constitution stating that, for the safety of society, he is forbidden from coming within two blocks of a kitchen and can be tasered on sight if seen holding a spatula. Then again, he has a lifelong restraining order against being anywhere near a stage and pretending to act — but here he is — so what can you do?

He hopes you enjoy the show and fully appreciate that he isn’t on the kitchen staff!

Rod Hutchinson

Director

Rod is very pleased to be able to bring another fun show to our incredible audience. He previously directed last season's Weekend Comedy by Jeanne and Sam Bobrick, as well as Unnecessary Farce by Paul Slade Smith from earlier this season.

Rod would like to thank the cast and crew, as well as the entire MFT family for being so talented and hardworking.

Krystina_Koc_2

Krystina Koc

Stage Manager

Krystina is thrilled to be back this season for another performance in her favourite spot: behind the scenes. After finishing Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot earlier this season, she just knew she had to come back for one more show and work with her MFT family again.

She hopes that you enjoy the show as much as she enjoyed working on it!
