Murder in the Wings Event Promo
Its Murder in The Wings Web Poster

"It was an hilarious murder/comedy that kept the audience on their toes and also in stitches. The script was crisp and entertaining. Fast moving."
— Anne Stumhofer, Family Theatre, Columbus, Georgia

Ever try to throw a party an hour after the host has been murdered? It's not as easy as it sounds!

As editor of the Wings Publishing Company, Maddie discovers her boss has met with an untimely death just before a contract-signing party that will save the business. Tyrolia, Kitty and Doris, the in-house staff, react with their usual grace. Tyrolia starts looking for another job, Kitty keeps trying to hide the body and Doris has an urge for doughnuts. All they have to do is keep the murder under wraps until notorious author Lionel Upshaw signs a contract, bringing about a new loan from J.B. Odell which will save the company.

Of course, there's the fact that someone at the party is also the murderer.

Throw in the problems of Nelva Odell finding the body, a television crew showing up to tape the festivities and, last but not least, the arrival of the late boss' new fiancée. Add a hack writer who unwittingly helps to get rid of the evidence, an actress turned caterer whose crab puffs keep crawling off, and a janitor who carries a gun and It's Murder in the Wings!

Lindsay Adams is thrilled to join the talented cast of It’s Murder in the Wings! for her first ever Mini Fridge Theatre Company production.

Previous Saskatoon stage credits include, Southern Dandy 75 with Live Five Independent Theatre (2017), Two Corpses Go Dancing with Two Unruly Gentlemen Theatre at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival (2011), The Great American Trailer Park Musical with Off Broadway Dinner Theatre (2008), and Baba and Gido’s 50th Wedding Anniversary with Off Broadway Dinner Theatre (2007). Off stage, Lindsay spends her days working as an Addiction Counsellor, where she’s also been known to exclaim, “Nonsense. I have everything under control!”

Lindsay raises a glass to you for supporting local theatre and for bolstering your mental health with a night of good food and fun. Cheers!

Omonike_Charles_Binitie

Omonike Charles-Binitie

Omonike is a recent immigrant to Canada with more than 20 years of stage experience in her native country, Nigeria. She is ecstatic to join this production of It’s Murder in the Wings! — her first stage production in Canada.

Omonike is looking forward to lending her unique style and Nigerian accent to Tyrolia, the woman with sass!

Gail_Enright

Gail Enright

"Sara Liles Hampton"

This is Gail's first time on the MFT stage. She was involved in theatre in Prince Albert for a number of years. Since moving to Saskatoon a year ago, she has been in the 2024 Saskatoon Summer Players production, in the ensemble of The Music Man, and played various characters in last fall's community theatre production of La Troupe du Jour’s, C'est a Nous D'Y Voir.

Gail hopes you enjoy the show as much as she has enjoyed working on this production. Thank you for supporting live local theatre.

Abigail_Essilfie_Dughan

Abigail Essilfie-Dughan

"Bobby June Lydecker"

Abigail is a second-year computer science student with a passion for theatre, music, and performing. When she’s not coding or studying, she loves participating in local theatre productions!

She is excited for this to be her first Mini Fridge Theatre Company production and hopes y’all enjoy the show!

Headshot of actor and director Rod Hutchinson from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Rod Hutchinson

"Maxie Dunsill"

Rod has been doing theatre in Saskatoon for over 30 years. If you've been here before, there's a good chance he greeted you as you came in. He first worked with Mini Fridge Theatre Company as a backup stage manager for Jim Brochu's Cookin' with Gus and has stage managed a couple of shows since.

Rod directed last season's Unnecessary Farce by Paul Slade Smith and Barefoot in the Park by Neil Simon as well as the previous season's Weekend Comedy by Jeanne and Sam Bobrick. He has been seen on-stage as Rev. Arthur Humphreys in Philip King's See How They Run and as Donnie in Norm Foster's The Foursome.

He hopes you enjoy your evening!

Headshot of actor Sean Kapell from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Sean Kapell

"Eddie"

Sean is delighted to be part of the hilarious first show for MFT's ninth season — Pat Cook's It's Murder in the Wings!

Last seen as a psychotic Scottish hitman in Paul Slade Smith's Unnecessary Farce, Sean has also been proud to be a part of such shows as Philip King's See How They Run, Marc Camoletti's Don't Dress For Dinner, and a bunch of others as well.

Thank you all so much!

Headshot of actor Rachelle Kosokowsky from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Rachelle Kosokowsky

"Helen Thornedyke"

This just in! Rachelle appears in another Mini Fridge Theatre Company production! For those counting, this makes #10. As always, Rachelle is thrilled to be back on stage with her theatre family.

Thank you again to her husband and son for giving their time to allow Rachelle to pursue her passion.

And thank you to YOU for supporting local theatre!

Rick_Rochon_2

Rick Rochon

"Lionel Upshaw"

In his spare time, Rick ran up and down mountains, carried rocks and sandbags, climbed up ropes and scaled walls, dunked himself in cold filthy water, monkeyed bars and shimmied wires, and still found the energy to grow that amazing ‘stache you’ll see on his face tonight. Seemed a pity not to find a character for it.

Enjoy the show!

Heidi_Terfloth

Heidi Terfloth

"Kitty"

Heidi is excited for her first show with MFT! Before her work at Mini Fridge Theatre Company, she was intensely involved in Walter Murray Collegiate's fall productions and yearly one-acts festivalShe's also been acting and writing in Persephone Theatre's Young Company for a year.

In her free time, Heidi indulges in creative writing, sketching, Dungeons & Dragons, and her tea obsession.

Chris_Utigard_2

Chris Utigard

"Donald McShane"

This is Christopher’s second season and third production with Mini Fridge Theatre Company, and he’s more confused than Doris by how he got here. Like a moth to the flame, he was drawn in by the “Mini Fridge” in “Mini Fridge Theatre Company” … though he has yet to discover the whereabouts of said mini fridge.

Despite the mystery of the mini fridge, he thoroughly enjoys this theatre and its troupe and hopes you all enjoy the show!

Kira_Wilson

Kira Wilson

"Doris"

Kira is excited for her first performance with MFT. She last acted in Shadow Players’ Alice in Wonderland in the 2019 Fringe Festival and Summer Players’ Footloose in 2018.

For the past few years, Kira has taken a break from the spotlight, working on the production side of performances instead. She most recently directed the musical Mean Girls and choreographed the musical Finding Nemo through SaskExpress.

Ebonie_Zary

Ebonie Zary

"Bertha"

The last time Ebonie set foot on stage, she was in high school and was delighted to be hand-selected from an elite squad of thespians to play the role of the camerawoman.

By the time you’re reading this, Ebonie will have gone from pregnant to being a new mom, so if her character is fed-up and tired — that’s not acting, that’s motherhood.

Headshot of actor and director Terry Schroell from Saskatoon's dinner theatre Mini Fridge Theatre Company

Terry Schroell

Director

Evening folks! It's always a pleasure to see you all and it gives me an excuse to dress up and look fabulous instead of the usual lost-and-found bin attire I lazily slap on.

Get ready for a fun show, with lots of new faces, all poised to perform for your adoration.

Yay live theatre!

Dawn_Bell_3

Dawn Bell

Stage Manager / "Nelva Odell"

This is Dawn’s first go-around as a stage manager, and what a whirlwind it has been! Excitement at every turn! She can now add to her resumé the momentous accomplishment of wrangling 14 people with varying schedules to appear in the same location for many hours over many weeks to rehearse (mostly successfully!). She’s also happy to get her few minutes in the limelight as Nelva Odell.

Who says all bankers are stodgy sticks-in-the-mud?!?

Kristen_Bilawchuk

Kristen Bilawchuk

Assistant Stage Manager

Kristen is thrilled to be a part of the Mini Fridge Theatre Company family.

It is her first ever theatre experience and she is grateful to have been given the opportunity to take part in the fall production and to learn from the wonderful cast and crew.
